By Jim DeFord

SEQUIM, Washington (November 3, 2012) — Rumors are smokin' hot for the Superboats. The first is a non-rumor with plans well underway for factory-backed Slipstream Racing to return to the series in 2013 in the Superboat class. The driver will be twice-time 400-class Champion and always a contender for a win in no matter what class or boat he runs, Dean Lautenschlager.

The hull will be the latest iteration from the Slipstream camp along with an unknown sized motor with a twin turbo. Turbos have been used with some success in OZ and NZ but this will be the first appearance of any type of turbo in the USSBA Racing Series. >>MORE

By Jim DeFord

SEQUIM/Vancouver, Washington (October 16, 2012) — Here at the USSBA Racing Series headquarters in Sequim, Washington we finally see fall setting in. Okay, I'm not really in Sequim, but let's pretend. Thank you for being nice and letting our season end in pleasant weather. Actually, we were well blessed with perfect racing weather for all the races in 2012. We had another wet spring and cool summer with actual summer being (again) later than normal. Makes one wonder if the Earth has actually shifted on its axis and they just aren't telling us...Until after the election, of course. It's Bush's fault anyway...

But, let's go ahead and digress. >>MORE

Latest news from The Slough

The report from the track: “We’re ready. Bring it on!” There are many new improvements for the fans and the teams. Hundreds of pounds of new grass seed were planted this year. Truckloads of dirt were brought in for better parking in the fan and team RV areas. For the teams it means for a much less crowded pit area separating the RV’s from the pits. >>MORE
